这是一道比较古老的题目啦，重复了2013年9月27日的真题。这道题目是一道环保类的题目，大家已经在平时的学习中积累一些环保方面的理由和例子，这个题目就不会特别难了。这道题目问的话题还是比较传统的，基本上就是化石能源vs新能源，所以相信思路不是特别难找。

下面我们来看这道题目的范文：
The long history of human has been mostly focusing on developing economy. The fast development of economy has also brought about much pollution. Hence, there’s a heated discussion about whether it is better to use a clean energy or continue to use the traditional energy. Some people may favor coal or oil, the traditional energy sources, since it is cheaper to acquire and it doesn’t require to build new facilities in order to make use of it. However, from my perspective, it is actually better to use a cleaner energy.
To begin with, cleaner energies are more sustainable. It is a well-known fact that both coal and oil is fossil energy, which means the process of creating these two kinds of energy resources could take billions of years. Therefore, the coal and oil we have now is not inexhaustible and we may use it up the next century, which will leave the future generations to have nothing to use. However, cleaner energies are usually renewable. For example, wind power and water power can produce electricity as long as there’s wind and water. And wherever there is temperature difference, there’s wind; wherever there’s river, there’s water. Thus, using more wind power and water power may ensure that the future generations may still have sufficient energy to develop their own economy.
Moreover, cleaner energies produce less pollution. Though oil and coal is efficient when producing power, it also creates a large amount of pollution. For example, burning coal will produce coal ash which may contaminate soil and groundwater and which may be the reason behind the heavy smog hovering over cities; burning gas may emit plenty of carbon dioxide, which is the main contributor of global warming. If this trend continues, the future generations and we will suffer greatly from the consequence. In contrast, cleaner energy will not produce the harm as the fossil energy. For example, hydrogen energy could be used to power cars and burning hydrogen will only produce water, which means the air will not be contaminated and there’s no risk of emitting too much carbon into the air to increase the temperature. Thus, using more cleaner energy could maintain a good environment for the future.
Admittedly, when comparing prices, new energy sources are not competitive now, since oil and coal right now is relatively cheaper to acquire, due to the already very advanced technology for excavating coal and oil. However, the things may change in the future, because the technology will continue to develop and more and more ways to produce cleaner energies will be discovered. With the advance of technology, more cleaner energies will be poured into market, which will surely lower the price, until it is as affordable as the fossil energies now. Besides, in the future, there may be cheaper ways to produce new energies as well, which means the cost of production will decrease. This will further lower the price. Therefore, the price of cleaner energy will be at least as competitive as fossil energies in the future.
To put in a nutshell, it is better to use cleaner energies to protect the environment.
